Oxfam in the Pacific humanitarian assistance working with Civil Society Forum of Tonga via their Cash for Crops project to help with recovery efforts of those who were most affected by the Hunga Tonga Hunga Ha’apai volcanic eruption. 15 sacks of root crops including taro, kumara and tapioca will be shipped out today, the 10th of January 2023 to help the 76 households that includes 48 Households whose homes were completely destroyed by the Tsunami that hit the Island of Nomuka. This is good timing since Nomuka residences are still recovering and re-planting their crops.
